Wal-Mart is so weird

Okay, i have a beef to pick with this industrial giant.  I went to Wal-Mart on Saturday (two days  before Halloween) to get some things for my daughter's class Halloween party.  I figure, hey, it is still a few days before so they so still have all their things out right?  WRONG!  I went to the season department in my local Super Wal-Mart and what did they have instead:  Christmas items.  The whole entire isle was full of those food gift boxes and candy.  There was no sign of any sort of Halloween items.  Okay, unless I total did not look at my calender right I know I still had at least 50 hours until the end of Halloween.  What in the world is the point of taking down the Halloween displays with the holiday had not even passed?  I mean, come on.  It is not like all the procrasinators (such as myself who can not really spell the word) would go there a week before the holiday and buy everything they need.  And what about those people that forgot something?  i don't buy things that I need for important functions until the day or two before.  (Like I said, I tend to put things off until the last possible moment.  Take the essay I am suppose to be working on.)  So when Wal-Mart takes down their displays and puts everything away two days before Halloween is over, they tend to lose business doing that.  Or they will put everything remotely Halloweenish into a small bin in the far back corner of the store where no body looks.  At least when I went to Target the day of Halloween, they still had all their Halloween gear and costumes right where they had been before.  It was condensed down to two isles, but that is more because that was all there really was.   Wal-Mart should take a lesson from them.  If it is still a few days before a Holiday, don't take down everything pretaining to that day.  Instead condense it down and put it all in one visible section.

agreed, expecially since halloween is a notorious holiday for us procrastinators going the day or wo before to get our supplies

I agree...I'm a target fan all the way!! The only thing wal mart is good for is a place to spend time when you live in a tiny ass town and have nothing better to do!

Capitalism has stolen our souls. If I ever ruled the country I would make a law that Christmas items are not allowed to be displayed until December 1st. By the time x-mas comes around, everyone is sick of it and disappointed and just wants to put the damn thing behind them. Wal-Mart is the worst possible creation of man outisde of nuclear war heads. They're so temptingly convenient, yet they destroy all locally owned retail in their path.

The thing is... big companies like Wal-Mart put small mom and pop stores out of business. So when they don't carry something you're looking for, oh well... you're SOL. Whereas, with the smaller stores, they'd carry the things you need, even if they weren't big corporate giants. That's the problem with Wal-Mart, Lowes, Home Depot, and all those other stores. They carry tons of shit, but nothing that you need. You're better off ordering your stuff off the internet. At least you know what you're getting.

I would rather order offline any way. It may just be my laziness coming out but I'd rather sit in my living room in pj's than getting out and going to some store and fighting off crowds of people, waiting in line, etc.
